A 50-foot portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, a montage of 250,000 self-portraits by children, was projected on the front of her London home Thursday. The projection will be up Friday and Saturday at Buckingham Palace, The Sun reported. The portrait is based on a picture of the queen taken by veteran Sun photographer Arthur Edwards. "It's a great honor to have one of my photos beamed on the side of Buckingham Palace," Edwards said. "And I was there to see it." The portrait display is one of the many events honoring the queen in her Diamond Jubilee Year, the 60th anniversary of her accession. It is also an attempt to get into another British institution, the Guinness Book of World Records. Edwards said the children who contributed to the montage will know their handiwork will be published over and over, even though each individual contribution is a relatively small one.
