'Royal house servant' tomb discovered at Tohotmos III Temple at Luxor

The Spanish archaeological mission working at the "Temple of Millions of Years" for king Tohotmos III in Luxor city discovered a cemetery of the "royal house servant" at the outside part of the southern wall of the temple, said head of the Egyptian archaeology sector of the Ministry of Antiquities Mahmoud Afifi on Sunday. 

The mission was making some excavation work at the site during its ninth season, he added. 

A coffin containing a Cartonnage-made mummy was found inside the tomb, said Afifi. 

The mummy was in a good condition and the cemetery dates back to the third transition age, he said.

Archaeologists will study all contents of the tomb to learn more about its owner, according to Afifi. 

The tomb is covered with painting decorations which embody a number of religious symbols in Ancient Egypt, he said.
