The Jeddah art community will have the chance to view a collection of the most colorful paintings of Saudi female artist Kholood Al-Salem. Wafaa Ghalayani, a Saudi businesswoman, will announce the official opening of the weeklong art show to be hosted at the Saudi Center for Fine Arts, located in Tahlyia district. Forty-five oil paintings depicting the artist’s long journey with colors will be exhibited. Al-Salem told Arab News that colors are the spirit of artwork, and that the language of expression is mainly based on ways and means of using colors. “It is very easy to form a figure but it is very difficult to compose colors,” she said. Al-Salem sees that the formation of colors is a true reflection of the artist’s views and concepts. Her exhibits range from birds, flowers and other realistic shapes that are very close to our life.
