
Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah praised Kuwait's prominent artists, noting that he also supports young artists and work on spreading traditional Kuwaiti arts.
Sheikh Salman met with Chairman of Kuwait Artists Association Abdulaziz Al-Mufarrij and member Anwar Abdullah to discuss developing cooperation between the Association and the Ministry of Information, the Ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
The meeting also discussed the role of the Association in spreading awareness towards traditional Kuwaiti arts, mainly in the folkloric music part, said the statement.
Meanwhile, the participants showcased the role of these arts in preserving the society's traditions and values, while strengthening social ties.
Moreover, the meeting discussed spreading the arts through the activities of national occasions and holidays, The two sides also tackled cooperation between the Association and the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL) and Higher Institute for Musical Arts, the statement noted.
The statement noted the attention Sheikh Salman pays towards elite artists, and his efforts to encourage young artists and develop their skills through different workshops.
Al-Mufarrij on his part noted that the Association aims to develop musical, theatrical, folkloric and formative arts in the country, while also developing the level of expertise of Kuwaiti artists through organizing seminars and ceremonies.
The Association also works on spreading traditional Kuwaiti arts in other countries by organizing concerts in different countries, he added.
