
Antiquities Minister Mamdouh el Damati underlined that the developing project of the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir will not be limited to inside the building only but will extend also to outside to serve as a cultural center.
The minister's remark came after Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab inaugurated the first phase of restoring the Egyptian Museum which included the eastern sector of Tutankhamun 's hall.
El Damati said that the museum will continue to play its role after the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The Egyptian Museum in Tahrir will be allocated for showcasing artifacts of developing the sculpture history.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by ministers of culture, social solidarity, commerce, industry and urban development as well as Cairo governor.
