Culture Minister Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa opened “Tylos, the Journey Life” Exhibition at the State Museum of Oriental Art in the Russian capital – Moscow – in the presence of world figures and delegations interested in heritage and museums. Launched early July 2012 at the State Hermitage Museum in St Petersburg, in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al-Khalifa, wife of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women, “Tylos, the Journey Life” Exhibition proved a huge success, attracting half a million tourists from all over the world. “Tylos, the Journey Life” Exhibition showcases 250 Bahrain National Museum-owned precious artifacts dating back to the period between the 2nd Century BC and the 3rd Century AD. The expo reconstructs rituals, funerary traditions and preparations for the afterlife, , in a all in a well-documented narrative showcasing pots, jewellery, make-up, coins, artifacts and dead remnants.
