
Vice President and Prime Minister of the U.A.E. and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received tonight guest preachers and scholars of the U.A.E. President and of Dubai International Holy Quran Award (DIHQA) at Zabeel Palace .
During the meeting, attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, and H.H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the Muslim scholars, exchanged Ramadan greetings with them and wished them success in their mission of communicating Islam's tolerant message within the UAE and abroad.
After breakfast and Maghreb prayer, Sheikh Mohammed exchanged talks with his guests on a broad range of Islamic and humanitarian issues, ways of spreading and promoting the culture of dialogue, and building bridges of communication between Muslims and Islamic states, and other cultures and religions to spread peace, peaceful co-existence and love across the world.
Sheikh Mohammed emphasised that ,'' Our tolerant Islam is one of peace, affection, justice, tolerance and equality..... It's a religion of civilisation and sciences and of the righteous moral and that Muslims without tolerant Islam lose their wellbeing as values, concepts and teachings of Islam have been embedded in our nature and daily behaviour and life.'' For their part, the scholars expressed their gratitude and thanks to the president, government, people and institutions of the U.A.E. for their noble humanitarian stances towards Muslims and non-Muslims as well as for extending a helping hand to the needy people, especially in poor countries, praising generous initiatives launched by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
They also commended initiatives of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, the latest of them was the U.A.E. Water Aid Campaign, which they hailed as a good and first of its kind in the world. The initiative seeks to provide clean drinking water for five million people across the world.
Mohammed Ibrahim Al Shaibani, Director General of Dubai Ruler's Court, Dr. Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Ibrahim Bumelha, Advisor to Mohammed bin Rashid for Cultural and Humanitarian Affairs, and Khalifa Saeed Sulieman, Director General of Dubai Protocol and Hospitality Department, attended the meeting.
