Chairman of UNESCO Executive Board and Egypt's Delegate Mohamed Sameh Amr condemned Saturday the destruction of ancient artifacts at Mosul museum by Daesh terrorists.
Amr described the attack on the museum as a "disaster", adding "it is a war crime."
He noted a message was received from Iraqi delegate requesting urgent meeting by the United Nations Security Council.
The diplomat expressed hope the UNSC would response to the extraordinary developments in Iraq and Syria.
