During his brief visit to Kuwait, US Secretary of State John Kerry managed to find an hour to visit Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah (DAI) at the Amricani Culture Center in Kuwait. In a press statement, the DAI pointed out that the US guest was received by Sheikha Hussah Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, co-owner of the Sabah Collection and director general of the DAI, and Abdulkareem Al-Ghadban, assistant undersecretary of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters (NCCAL). It added that Secretary Kerry was accompanied by Sheikh Salem Abdallah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Ambassador of Kuwait to the USA Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Ambassador of the USA in Kuwait Mattew H.Tueller, a delegation from the US Department of State, and members of the American press. "During tours of three exhibitions (Splendors of the Ancient East: Antiquities in Al-Sabah Collection; Splendors Loaned from Kuwait National Museum; and Verses from the Holy Quran on Works of Art) led by Sheikha Hussah, Secretary Kerry stopped several times to ask questions and make comments. The guests then had a quick visit to the "Story of Amricani" multi-media presentation that tells the story of how, when, and why the American Hospital was founded," noted the statement. It also revealed that Secretary Kerry wrote in the guestbook, sharing his impression of the visit to the Amricani Cultural Center, noting that it was constructed to foster a special relationship between the United States and Kuwait long before the Desert Storm. He also expressed his utmost admiration for the superb art that has been collected by Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, co-owner of the Sabah Collection.
