Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit discussed with Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende the latest developments in the region, especially the Palestinian issue and Libyan and Syrian crises.
Abul Gheit lauded the role played by Norway in backing the Palestinian issue in the humanitarian and political domains, a statement by the pan-Arab body said.
Talks tackled revitalizing peace negotiations to set up an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
With the aim of torpedoing the two-state solution, Israeli authorities are building more and more settlements at the current stage, he said, urging the international community to be aware of the grave consequences of wasting the chance of finding a political solution.
