Al Azhar Imam praises Mansour's role during transitional period

Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb on Wednesday met Adly Mansour, Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court and Egypt's former president. 

In statements following the meeting, Al Azhar Grand Imam hailed the key role played by Mansour, the former president, during the tough transitional period after June 30 revolution.

Mansour led the country in a perfect way. He has been an example of justice, dedication and commitment during such a critical period, he added.

For his part, Adly Mansour lauded the prominent international role played by Al Azhar, pointing out to its support in June 30 revolution. 

The meeting reviewed Al Azhar's role in serving Islam and Muslims in Egypt and the Islamic world, spreading the modest Islamic ideology and fighting extremist ideas.
