Algerian Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal on Sunday held discussions with Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez al Sarraj as part of ongoing consultations between the two countries.
The discussions were an opportunity to "assess the political and security situation, as well as the political momentum to speed up the process for the resolution of the crisis in Libya," said Sellal's office in a statement.
Al Sarraj paid tribute to Algeria for its efforts for a sovereign political solution in Libya, added the statement, according to Algeria Press Service.
The discussions were attended by Minister of Maghreb Affairs, African Union and Arab League Abdelkader Messahel.
