
The Arab League Secretary-General Dr. Ahmed Aboul Ghait met today with the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, on the sideline of his participation in the 71st session UN General Assembly in New York.
According to a statement issued by the Arab League today, Aboul Ghait listened to a briefing from the UN Envoy on the results of contacts he conducted with the Yemeni parties as well as the international one concerned with the Yemeni issue, in the context of seeking a political settlement.
In this regard, Aboul Ghait reiterated the Arab League's consistent stance that any settlement in Yemen must be on the national dialogue outputs, the Gulf initiative and the relevant UN Security Council resolutions.
