Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abo Al Ghait met today with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolay Mladenov.
A statement released today from the Arab League to the press said that the meeting dealt with developments in Palestine. The two officials also discussed the chances for a restart to the peace process.
Mladenov also touched upon the dangers of a law that the Israeli government plans to pass which would legitimize settlements. For his part, Abo Al Ghait stressed that settlements were illegal acts that violated international law regardless of what the Israeli side will pass from laws. He added that the international community must work strongly to prevent Israel from passing the aforementioned law.
