PLO Executive Committee Member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi on Wednesday morning met with French Consul General Hervé Magro at the PLO Headquarters in Ramallah.
Both parties examined the latest political developments and international moves and consultations.
The discussion focused on the French initiative to organize an international peace conference and its preparatory steps to date; this includes the projected international support group meeting to take place in Paris at the end of May.
Ashrawi and Consul General Magro also discussed the upcoming Quartet report to be released on May 25 at the United Nations Security Council and the possible impact of such a report on Israeli behavior and the political scene.
Ashrawi stressed, “In order for all political moves to succeed, particularly the proposed international peace conference, it is important that the participants exhibit the political will necessary to act decisively and to end the occupation and to remove all of its manifestations from Palestinian land.”
