Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad Hesham el Naqeeb started a visit to Saudi Arabia along with his accompanying delegation to attend meetings of the Consular Joint Committee between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which will be held on Monday and Tuesday.
The visit came as part of directives issued by Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry to intensify efforts to give attention to the Egyptian expatriates' rights abroad, said Naqeeb in statements Sunday.
The committee meetings will hold the 11th session in Riyadh, he said, adding that the 10th session was held in Cairo in 2013.
The Egyptian and Saudi sides are keen on holding the committee meetings regularly in light of the strategic ties binding the two countries, he added.
The committee is assigned to look into the consular affairs related to the interests of citizens of both countries, he said.
