Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa met Tuesday with other ministers taking part in a conference on religious minority rights in Muslim states, currently held in Marrakesh.
Gomaa met with his Jordanian counterpart Hayel Daoud, head of Iraq's Diwan al Waqf al Sunni Sheikh Abdel Latif Hammam and Sheikh al Hafez al Nahawi of Mauritania.
The meetings took up efforts to activate the role of scholars and imams in countering terrorist ideologies and efforts to promote the tolerant values of Islam.
Gomaa also posted them on a conference the Egyptian Ministry of Awqaf intends to organize in Aswan in May to discuss promoting the role of dawa institutions in countering terrorism.
