Al Azhar abides by its moderate curriculum and keen on making sure that its students are not affected by any ideas that run counter to their curriculum, said Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb.
During his meeting with Indonesian Religious Affairs Minister Lukman Hakim Saifuddin on Monday, Tayyeb said that Al Azhar is keen on following up the Indonesian students along with others from the various Islamic countries.
The Indonesian minister, for his part, extended thanks to Tayyeb for the great support received by the Indonesian students at Al Azhar.
He also voiced happiness for the efforts exerted by Al Azhar to entrench peace.
The minister also handed over Tayyeb four residential buildings designated for the Indonesian students at Al Azhar in order to be under the full supervision of Al Azhar.
