Egypt's Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Essam Fayed on Friday met with Director General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) José Graziano da Silva in Rome.
During a meeting held on the sidelines of the 39th session of the Board of Governors of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)'s meetings, the two sides discussed ways to promote cooperation in the agricultural field, especially Egypt's major project to reclaim 1.5 million feddans.
Da Silva hailed steps taken by Egypt to implement the project, saying that a FAO mission would visit the country to discuss the possibility of providing the necessary support for agricultural development projects.
The Egyptian minister reviewed the Agriculture Ministry's role in the application of Egypt's sustainable agricultural development strategy until 2030.
