Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Mohamed Abdel Aati met with Austrian Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management Minister Andrae Rupprechter and his accompanying delegation on Wednesday.
The meeting took up the main features of cooperation between the two countries in the water resources domain and exchanging expertise in this regard.
The Egyptian minister reviewed major challenges facing water management and the optimum use of available water resources, while finding other non-traditional resources, such as water recycling and seawater desalination.
He also shed light on the state's plan to develop river transport, aiming at building a navigation line between Lake Victoria and the Mediterranean Sea passing through Egypt, South Sudan and Uganda.
