
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with his South Sudanese counterpart Barnaba Benjamin Thursday on the sidelines of the the meeting of the Executive Council of Ministers of the AU in Addis Ababa.
The meeting followed up the political crisis in South Sudan along with efforts to form the transitional government of national unity, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukry also underlined the need of implementing the peaceful political settlement agreement, which was signed in August 2015 between the parties of the peaceful process in South Sudan, added the spokesman.
The meeting also tackled projects which are implemented by Egypt in South Sudan in the fields of health, education, irrigation and training, added the spokesman.
Benjamin, meanwhile, voiced his appreciation to the efforts exerted by Egypt to support South Sudan.
