
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Friday met with his Somali counterpart Abdisalam Omer on the sidelines of the Executive Council of Ministers of the AU in Addis Ababa.
The meeting tackled Egyptian-Somali relations, as well as political and security developments in Somalia and the Horn of Africa.
The Somali foreign minister briefed Shoukry on Somalia's peace process, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukry, for his part, stressed distinguished relations between Cairo and Mogadishu, the spokesman added.
The two diplomats discussed preparations for a planned meeting between the two countries' leaders on the sidelines of the African Union Summit.
