
Iraqi Vice President Osama al-Nujaifi met here on Thursday with Egypt's Ambassador to Iraq Alaa Moussa.
The two sides discussed means of boosting bilateral ties, the latest regional and international developments in addition to the battle to liberate Mosul from the control of Daesh terrorist organization.
Egypt is a main pillar in the Arab World, the Iraqi official said. He noted that joint cooperation between Baghdad and Cairo, particularly in combating terrorism, serves the interests of Egyptians and Iraqis.
Meanwhile, the Egyptian ambassador said Egypt's leadership supports Iraq and is keen on promoting joint relations in all domains.
Terrorism is a common foe for Egypt and Iraq, Moussa said.
