
Egyptian Minister of Petroleum Tareq el Molla and his counterpart from Peru met Wednesday to discuss joint cooperation and efforts to support oil and mining industries in both countries.
Molla praised the model applied by Peru in the field of mining investment, which now contributes to about 26 percent of the national income, according to a statement by the Petroleum Ministry.
Molla hailed as attractive the investment climate in Egypt, particularly the oil sector, pointing to numerous business opportunities and incentives.
The Peruvian minister said the private sector played an important role in the launch of mining activities in his country.
He believes there are promising opportunities of cooperation between Cairo and Lima.
