
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail met with Iraqi Oil Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi and Jordanian Energy Minister Ibrahim Saif on Thursday.
During the meeting, the prime minister said the petroleum and natural gas sectors in Egypt have seen serious steps to develop well search operations through setting an atmosphere conducive for investment.
Egypt is keen to bolster its relations with its Arab sister countries in all domains and is looking forward for the return of stability to the region to boost cooperation and integration in all economic fields, including oil and natural gas sectors, the premier said.
Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tareq el Molla said Egypt, Iraq and Jordan have agreed on an oil pipeline project in mid November to extend from Basra to Aqaba.
The gas pipeline will be extended from southern Iraq to Aqaba Port in Jordan then to Ain Sokhna Port in Egypt and from there to the Mediterranean Sea, Iraqi Oil Minister Abdul Mahdi said.
