
Egypt’s Ambassador to Iraq Ahmed Darwish on Tuesday conferred with Head of the "National Alliance" of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim on bilateral relations between Cairo and Baghdad.
The ways of enhancing the ties as well as the latest political, security and economic developments in Iraq and the region were discussed in the meeting.
During the meeting, al-Hakim called for more security, political, economic and social cooperation between Iraq and the Arab countries.
Iraq is a part and parcel of the region, he stressed.
Darwish, for his part, hailed al-Hakim’s role in calling for unity and dialogue as well as political and security stability in Iraq and the region.
