
First Vice President and Prime Minister of Sudan Lt. Gen. Bakri Hassan Salih met Monday with HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between the State of Qatar and the Republic of Sudan and ways of boosting them in different fields.
It also reviewed the outcome of the 4th meeting of the Darfur reconstruction and development council and the 12th meeting of the committee for following-up implementation of Doha document for peace in Darfur, which were held under the chairmanship of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs.
In a press statement after the meeting, Al Mahmoud said that he conveyed to the First Vice President and Prime Minister the greetings of the Qatari leadership and the congratulation of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani to him on his appointment as the Prime Minister.
His Excellency said that he expressed to the First Vice - President and Prime Minister his appreciation of the outcomes of the Sudanese national dialogue and briefed him on the outcomes of the 4th meeting of the Darfur reconstruction and development council and the 12th meeting of the committee for following-up implementation of Doha document for peace in Darfur, pointing out that he listened to his views with regards to several issues and topics that are of interest to Sudan and the region.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs also praised what has been achieved in Sudan. The meeting was attended by HE Qatar's Ambassador to Sudan Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi.
