Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Sunday stressed the importance of the role played by Arab countries to maintain Libya's unity and protect the Libyan institutions.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra on the sidelines of the Paris Peace Conference.
The Skhirat agreement should be the basis for restoring Libya's stability and activating the role of Libyan institutions, the top Egyptian diplomat noted.
During the talks, the two ministers also discussed a number of regional issues of common concern and means of boosting bilateral ties, spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zaid said.
Egypt is keen on continuing efforts aimed at reaching a consensus agreement between all Libyan parties, Abu Zaid quoted the Egyptian foreign minister as saying.
