
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh on Wednesday, discussed with his Belgian counterpart Didier Reynders, bilateral ties, challenges facing the Middle East as well as efforts to address them.
The two sides highlighted the strong ties between the two countries and their leaderships in various domains.
Judeh voiced Jordan's appreciation of Belgium's support to cooperation projects between the two countries as well as to efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to achieve peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting in Amman, Judeh and his Belgian counterpart also discussed international efforts to counter terrorism and terror organizations that pose a major challenge to the region and the world.
The two ministers also reviewed the Syrian crisis and the situation in Aleppo.
Judeh reiterated Jordan's stance under the leadership of His Majesty the King that calls for a political solution to the Syrian crisis that guarantees the unity and territorial integrity of the country in line with Security Council resolution 2254, Geneva 1 resolutions and statements issued by the international group on Syria.
The two sides also discussed conditions of Syrian refugees in the Kingdom and the burden shouldered by Jordan as a result of hosting those refugees and providing them with services.
Judeh also highlighted the need to re-launch serious and effective talks between the Palestinians and Israelis leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Belgian minister voiced his country's appreciation of Jordan's pivotal role under the leadership of His Majesty in addressing regional issues and bringing security and stability in the region.
