
Their Excellencies the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) held in New York a joint meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson and UN Special Envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
GCC Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani took part in the meeting.
Talks during the meeting tackled the latest developments in Yemen and the efforts made by the UN Special Envoy to resume peace talks in order to reach a political and comprehensive solution to the Yemeni issue, in accordance with Security Council Resolution (2216), the GCC initiative and the outcome of the National Dialogue Conference (NDC).
The ministers stressed the importance of reaching a political solution to the Yemeni crisis and the UN efforts to resume peace talks in order to end the conflict, and restore security and stability in Yemen.
