
GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met Thursday with Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed, the U.N. secretary general's special envoy for Yemen.
The meeting reviewed the latest political, security and humanitarian developments in Yemen as well as the envoy's efforts to conclude Yemeni peace talks, push the political process forward in line with the Gulf initiative and the outputs of the comprehensive national dialogue and Security Council Resolution 2216.
Al Zayani stressed GCC states' support for the efforts of the U.N. envoy to carry on Yemeni peace talks and their keenness on bringing peace to Yemen and preserving its stability while delivering humanitarian aid to all Yemeni provinces to alleviate the suffering of the people.
