
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ashraf el Sheihy received on Sunday, at the headquarter of the ministry, Portuguese Ambassador to Egypt Magdalena Fischer.
They discussed ways of improving cooperation especially in the fields of higher education, scientific research and technology, in light of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's visit to Portugal last November.
Minister Sheihy stressed the importance of boosting cooperation between Egypt and Portugal in the education fields.
Meanwhile, the ambassador expressed happiness over Sisi's visit to her country, which was the first by an Egyptian president since two decade.
Fischer voiced Portugal's keenness on maintaining cooperation with Egypt, exchanging know-how between Egyptian and Portuguese universities along with conducting scientific research in related fields.
Sheihy invited his Portuguese counterpart to pay a visit to Egypt for talks on education and scientific fields.
