French President Francois Hollande expressed his country's support for measures taken by Egypt to boost its economy and achieve a comprehensive development, hoping the economic reform program carried out by the Egyptian government will achieve its goals.
During his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in China, Hollande hailed as "historical" ties binding between Egypt and France.
Hollande also underlined the development of the Egyptian-French cooperation over the past period, Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef said in statements on Monday.
For his part, President Sisi extolled the quantum leap in the Egyptian-French cooperation in all fields over the past years, saying he is looking forward to expanding the scope of cooperation with France at all levels in the coming period, the spokesman added.
Sisi reviewed with Hollande the latest domestic and regional developments, underlining efforts exerted by the Egyptian government to promote economic development via implementing its ambitious economic reform program, the spokesman added.
The two leaders also reviewed a number of regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, as well as international initiatives and efforts exerted to revive the Palestinian-Israeli peace process, Amb. Youssef noted.
They also discussed the crises in Syria and Libya, stressing the importance of international efforts to reach political solutions to these crises in a way that preserves these countries' unity, sovereignty and regional safety, the spokesman said
