Iran’s Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani Tuesday met with the visiting President of the French Parliament’s National Assembly (lower house) Claude Bartolone.
The two discussed the expansion of parliamentary relations between Tehran and Paris, Press TV reported.
The pair also discussed regional and international developments. They are scheduled to attend a joint press conference after the meeting.
Bartolone arrived in Tehran late on Monday at the invitation of Larijani.
During his stay in Iran, Bartolone will also meet with President Hassan Rouhani, Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, and Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani.
Bartolone had initially been scheduled to visit Iran in mid-July, but had to postpone his trip in the wake of a deadly terrorist attack in the southern French city of Nice.
On July 14, a driver drove a truck at high speed into a large crowd of people, who had gathered for the Bastille Day fireworks in Nice, killing at least 84 people, including children.
