German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev are determined to implement the terms of the Minsk peace agreement for eastern Ukraine swiftly, Merkel said after talks on the sidelines of the ASEM summit in Ulanbaatar on Friday.
The chancellor earlier this week talked to Russia's President Vladimir Putin on the phone to discuss NATO's recent decisions on builing up military strength in Eastern Europe among other topics.
The Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) 2016 runs through Saturday in the Mongolian capital and brings together primarily the member states of the European Union, the Association of South-east Asian Nations (ASEAN), China, Japan and South Korea for informal talks.
