H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, has called on athletes, UAE citizens, and residents alike to participate in the International Zayed Charity Marathon, under the slogan "The Day the UAE Runs," which will be held next Saturday in Yas Circuit in support of kidney patients in the country.
Sheikh Nahyan praised President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support of humanitarian initiatives helping the needy around the world and commended the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and his efforts to cement humanitarian values in different segments of society, and H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for his patronage of this event.
Sheikh Nahyan said that the marathon is a translation of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed's idea to make sport a crucial platform for the dissemination of the inherent values of the UAE society, particularly values of solidarity, compassion and support for the underprivileged. These efforts are also in line with the visions of the wise leadership who want to strengthen the concept of charity in society and include UAE's contribution in various humanitarian initiatives.
