
President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas met here on Sunday with Austrian Foreign Minister Sebastian Kurz. During the Meeting Abbas briefed the Austrian Minister on the latest developments in Palestine.
He emphasized the importance of supporting the French initiative to hold an international peace conference, that brings about an international mechanism to resolve the Palestinian issue, stressing the role that can be played by Austria and Europe in the success of this important initiative.
Abbas pointed out that the Palestinian leadership supports French efforts, and is working to mobilize international support for the success of the French initiative to end crises of the political process.
For his part the Austrian Foreign Minister affirmed his country's support of the political process on the basis of the two-state solution as well as its continued support for the Palestinian people in building Palestinian institutions.
