Paris and Brussels attacks proved Egypt's vision that terrorism and extremist thoughts have penetrated most of the globe, Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar said Thursday.
Abdel Ghaffar's remarks came during his meeting with German Vice-President of the Bundestag Claudia Roth.
Roth, along with her accompanying delegation, is on a visit to Cairo.
Abdel Ghaffar and Roth discussed several issues of common interest, as she stressed the importance of the Egyptian role in stabilizing the Middle East, especially in this time witnessing mounting regional tensions, and rising in numbers of illegal migrants and asylum seekers in Europe and Arab countries, fleeing from wars and conflicts.
Roth said her visit to Egypt came amid the distinguished relations binding the two countries, underlined the importance of concerting bilateral and international efforts to issue regulations countering extremism and violence.
Abdel Ghaffar expounded with Roth latest domestic and regional security developments, and the impact of the running regional conflicts on spreading terrorism and extremist ideologies.
