President of Palestine Meets Chinese Official
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas .

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas met Wednesday with Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Gong Xiaosheng.
Abbas said during the meeting that he welcomed any international effort that saves the two-state solution and establishes an independent Palestinian state based on the borders of 1967 with East-Jerusalem as its capital.
For his part Xiasheng said that China backs France's initiative to hold an international peace conference to resolve the Palestinian crisis and establish a Palestinian state in accordance to the two-state solution.
