
HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani on Monday met UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, HH Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the occasion of his participation in the Qatar's information and communication technology exhibition and conference (QITCOM 2017) in its fourth edition under the theme "Qatar Towards a Smart Future." The meeting reviewed the existing ties between the two fraternal countries and means of boosting and developing them on all fronts, particularly in the security areas, in addition to the latest regional developments. The two sides also discussed a number of topics on the agenda of the conference.
After that, HE the prime minister and the UAE interior minister toured the Ministry of Interior and examined a replica of the premises, while listening to a briefing by senior ministry officials about the building and its design that was inspired by Qatari architecture heritage as well as its contents, state-of-the-art equipment, and surveillance room that deploys the latest technologies.
The tour also featured a visit to the ministry's police museum, which has some old collections such as weaponry, equipment, documents and attires that document the phases of police development. Additionally, the tour included a replica of the oldest police station in Qatar and the conference hall, theater, library and other administrative and entertainment facilities.
At the end of his visit to the Ministry of Interior, the UAE minister of interior praised the modern equipment at the ministry premises as well as its design that speak to the authenticity and nobility of the Qatari architecture heritage, highlighting the collections of the police museum that reflect how the Qatari police copes with the different developments in that field. He also hailed the Ministry of Interior's experience in documenting the history of the Qatari police apparatus as part of the history of Qatar in particular and the GCC states in general.
