Prime Minister, Abdullah Ensour, on Tuesday, met with Executive Vice President of the Canadian company investing in the Arab Potash Company, Wayne Brownlee, and discussed with him issues related to raising the company's production.
Ensour commended the Arab Potash Company's achievements, noting that the firm recorded a profit of JOD131 million in 2015. He also thanked the company's strategic partner PotashCorp for its role in achieving the high profitability.
The premier emphasized the importance of ramping up the company's efforts to increase its production and to keep pace with the production of the Israeli Potash Company, which uses the same salts and materials on the other shore of the Dead Sea.
He urged the company to cooperate with the planning and transportation ministries, to help establish a railway that extends from the Jordan Valley to the port city of Aqaba.
Brownlee thanked the Jordanian government for its support and said the company is proud of what it provides to the local community.
