
Russian and Serbian positions on current international problems are similar or close, and relations between the two countries are of strategic partnership, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Serbia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dacic said on Friday at a working meeting on the sidelines of the 71st session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
"The exchange of opinions on key issues of the Russian-Serbian cooperation and current international agenda has demonstrated similar or close approaches by Russia and Serbia," the Foreign Ministry was quoted by Tass news agency as having said on Friday.
"The two parties have stressed that bilateral relations are of strategic partnership".
During the meeting, the two officials discussed a schedule of future political and economic contacts between Russia and Serbia, added the agency.
