
Senate President Faisal Al Fayez discussed with Speaker of the UAE Federal National Council (FNC) Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Jordanian-UAE ties, and means to further boost them, mainly in the parliamentary field.
During a meeting in Amman on Tuesday, the two sides highlighted the strong and historic ties between Jordan and the UAE as well as the continued coordination on various issues of common interest.
Al Fayez commended the deeply-rooted relations between the two countries that are based on continued coordination and mutual respect.
He also pointed to contacts and coordination between His Majesty King Abdullah II and UAE President Sheikh Khalifah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan that aim forging closer bilateral ties and unifying stances on issues od common concern.
The Senate president urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the Syrian refugees, and support the Kingdom to enable it to continue its humanitarian role towards the refugees.
He also praised the UAE's continued support to Jordan to help it in overcoming challenges facing it and fighting terrorism.
On Syria, Al Fayez said that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, has always affirmed the importance of reaching a political solution to the Syrian crisis."A just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue is key to ending conflicts in the region," he added.
The UAE official stressed the need to boost relations between the two countries exchange parliamentary expertise to develop parliamentary work.
