Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry received on Thursday France's Special Envoy to the Middle East Peace Process Pierre Vimont, who is currently visiting Cairo.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said they discussed coordination between Cairo and Paris to push forward the Middle East peace process following the Paris meeting on June 3 to prepare for an international peace conference before the end of 2016.
Vimont briefed Shoukry on the outcome of his contacts with Palestinian and Israeli sides to implement recommendations of the Paris meeting.
The French top diplomat was keen to listen to the Egyptian vision on how to prompt the Palestinian and Israeli sides to resume the peace process and start negotiations, Abu Zeid added.
