
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz started official talks on Sunday.
On Saturday, Sisi received Ould Abdel Aziz upon his arrival at Cairo airport.
An expanded session of talks will be held between the Egyptian and Mauritanian delegations after the two leaders' talks.
The talks will discuss ways of promoting cooperation particularly in the economic fields as well as the latest international and regional issues of mutual concern.
They will also ink a number of agreements in several domains.
The Mauritanian president is expected to inspect a number of economic and investment projects in Egypt especially in agriculture and livestock domains as well as meet with a number of Egyptian businessmen to discuss ways of fostering economic cooperation.
This is the first visit by a Mauritanian president to Egypt in more than 40 years.
