Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Friday at his residence in Addis Ababa with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
The president asserted during the meeting Egypt's continued support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and defense of their cause in all international forums, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
Sisi also stressed that Egypt fully backs the Palestinian authority an its efforts to establish an independent Palestinian state within the borders of 1967 with Al Quds as its capital.
Abbas, for his part, hailed Egypt's efforts to support the Palestinian cause, stressing Cairo's pivotal role in preserving security and stability in the Middle East and unifying the Arab ranks in the face of challenges.
