
Tunisian Defense Minister Farhat Horchani on Monday met Alejandro Alvargonzalez, NATO assistant secretary general for political affairs and security policy.
During the meeting, Horchani stressed the importance of cooperation between Tunisia and NATO in order to address the security challenges that the country is going through, Tunisian news agency TAP reported, citing a statement by the Ministry of Defense.
For his part, Alvargonzalez expressed NATO's willingness to strengthen the military cooperation with Tunisia, particularly in the fields of training, intelligence and training exercises so as to boost its readiness in the fight against terrorism.
He welcomed Tunisia's steps towards democratic transition despite the regional and international difficulties.
