
Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met in Nairobi on Monday with Kenyan Secretary for Foreign Affairs Amina Mohamed.
They discussed bilateral relations and ways to enhance them and exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments, as well as issues of mutual interest.
Sheikh Abdullah said the UAE was keen on developing relations with the African countries, including Kenya, especially in economic, commercial, investment and business fields.
The Kenyan Secretary for Foreign Affairs praised the progressive ties between the two countries and expressed her country's desire to develop them. She also commended the progress witnessed in the UAE and the keenness of the Kenyan leadership to benefit from the Emirati example.
Amina Mohamed thanked the UAE for the humanitarian and developmental support given to her country.
At the press conference held at the end of the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah said he was pleased to visit Kenya, adding that volume of the two-way trade between the two countries was excellent, and there was still potential to increase it.
The Kenyan Secretary for Foreign Affairs welcomed Sheikh Abdullah and said their talks were fruitful, covering several issues of interest to the two countries, the Gulf, Africa and the world.
"The UAE has significant investments in Kenya and we are looking forward to attracting more foreign investments," she said.
The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State, Abdul Razak Mohammed Hadi, UAE Ambassador to Kenya and Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, CEO of DP World.
