UN Syria envoy, Syrian government start talks

Peace talks between UN Syria envoy Staffan de Mistura and the Syrian government delegation kicked off here Tuesday to reach a peaceful settlement to the crisis.
During the meeting, the UN envoy will review results of his Monday meeting with the country's main opposition bloc.
This comes as the opposition's High Negotiations Committee awaits de Mistura's reply on their request.
Proximity talks in Geneva will continue addressing the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Syria.
