Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi yesterday met UN Special Envoy to Yemen Esmail Ould Shaikh Ahmad, who is visiting the southern port city of Aden for the first time since it was liberated from the clutches of rebel Houthi and Saleh militias.
President Hadi lauded the UN envoy's efforts to end war in Yemen and relaunch the political process. He said what is happening today in Taez from carnages and destruction is a replay of what Aden has suffered before at the hands of the rebel militias.
'Despite the suffering and wounds, we always extend our hands to peace out of our national and humanitarian responsibility towards our people,' President Hadi affirmed.
The UN envoy commended President Hadi's efforts towards achieving peace in Yemen and taking it out of this painful reality towards prospects for peace, building and stability.
